What Do You Do When Your Vendor Does Not Show Up To Your Event?
What Do You Do When Your Vendor Does Not Show Up To Your Event?
As the principal owner of my own company, I know the importance of keeping my ducks in a row and making sure on game day that my vendors show up on time and at the right location. But what happens when one of your vendors doesn’t show up to your event? How can this happen? What do you do?
This scenario recently happened at a major Hollywood Studio A-List premiere. When I heard about this, my first reaction was how could this happen? Where was the communication breakdown? Apparently, the date was changed and the event coordinator did not relay this information to the caterer. There was a production timeline sent to all the vendors but by mistake the caterer was over-looked on this piece of information and they never received it. Ok, mistakes happen but with an event of this size, magnitude and publicity surrounding it, why wasn’t there verbal communication between the event planner and caterer 48 hours to a week before the event?

Charity Fundraising Ideas for a Red Carpet Event
Charity Fundraising Ideas for a Red Carpet Event
Recently I produced a red carpet event and thought I would share some of our charity fundraising ideas with you. The event was for PCRM and like other red carpet events we produce, many hours of planning went into creating this successful non profit event.
One of the main non profit ideas was to make this non profit event stand out among the crowd since this charity was being introduced to a new audience on the West Coast. Thus it was important for this red carpet event to adhere to the highest level of professionalism in terms of food, service and design. We accomplished this by bringing in one of the top live TV show producers who in turn assembled a top-rated production team making the television portion of this event seamless.
Will Dead Sara Wake Up LA Music?
Will Dead Sara Wake Up LA Music?
I was so impressed by Dead Sara’s last performance at the Whisky a Go Go, that I thought I would catch them again. (Could I be right? Is Dead Sara LA’s next gem?)
So I went to the Knitting Factory, Saturday, February 3, 2007, but I didn’t get there until 10:00pm. A number of people told me they liked the band that just played, The Vespertines, but I can’t attest to much else myself. Catch them on MySpace if you are interested.
First band up after I arrived, THE AMNESTY ( You can hear them on MySpace under Connor Ragan if you are interested.) They seem to have a good number of fans in the audience. (They were sold out.) At first they didn’t seem bad. Good music, but the lead singer does need a few vocal lessons, though he did have a good stage presence, and communicated to his audience well. But, after about 3 songs I started getting a little bored and antsy. Songs weren’t distinct, vocals weren’t good. These guys may have potential but they need a little more practice. Their MySpace music is much better than this live performance was, though even on MySpace it is evident the lead singer needs to get some vocal training.
